The Magic City as she is known. Miami with all of her diversity and
charm seems to be gaining popularity once again. A new study by the City Observatory, a Portland-based
think tank dedicated to crunching data about cities and urban policies reveals
that Miami’s share of 25 to 34 year olds with college degrees has jumped nearly
25% in the last decade.
The study’s goal is trying to pin down where the “young
& restless” would like to put down roots. The demographics are important as
they reflect growing economies. They
quote economist Edward Glasser on the point: "The most successful economic
development policy is to attract and retain smart people and then get out of
their way."
Apparently Miami-Dade,
Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beaches Metro areas have done an excellent job of doing
just that. Right on par with New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, San
Diego and Nashville. The authors
saw a notable increase in downtown Miami with 118% growth. Here are just a few of
the condominiums which they are gravitating to in Miami: Ten
Museum Park, Marina
Blue and the Marquis.
