Low interest rates and a strengthening job market are reportedly responsible for a surge in sales statewide. According to the Realtor Association of the Palm Beaches sales of single family homes increased 19 percent in October from the previous year and sale rose two percent.
Inventory levels for single family homes rose fourteen percent. The median sales price of $275,000 was a gain from the previous month of $268,000.
Broward County saw a year over year increase in condo and single family home sales. According to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Realtors Association. The single family median price in Broward rose 1.9 percent to $275,000 in October. The median condo price increased 209 percent to $119,900. Those year after year price gains reflect a significant decline from the double digit percentage jumps Broward posted earlier this year and in 2013.
Single family home sales in Broward surged by 14.8 percent to 1,393 sales. Condo closings rose 5.3 percent to 1,441. Single family inventory jumped from 4,822 to 6,574 year over year and condo inventory increased by 24.4 percent to 8,325 units.
