Why are US Home Sales Surging and at Highest Level since 2008

Some say a stronger job market , some say affordable mortgage rates. I say 3.1 million workers hired in the past 12 months has something to do with it! New home sales have increased 24 percent in a year. Just last month home sales jumped 87.5 percent in the northeast. That's incredible.

The National Association of Realtors stated yesterday "Tight supplies have lifted sale prices, which have climbed 7.9 percent over the past 12 months. Borrowing costs are low by historical standards but are rising which should result in an influx of home buyers.


Check this out; more than 32 percent of homes sold last month were purchased by first time home buyers. Compared to 27 percent just a year ago. did you know that 28 percent of new listings sell within the first 2 weeks of hitting the market, it was 19 percent before the recession.
